The Freedom Tower of the New World Trade Center in New York (USA) has been built on the site of the Twin Towers destroyed in the September 11 attacks of 2001. The tower is topped by a spire in May 10, 2013. The building of a new trade center has become the tallest skyscraper in the Western hemisphere.

After the installation of the spire the height of the tower is 1,776 feet. The new World Trade Center was built in memory of the victims of September 11. The tower will be the center of the composition of a number of high-rise buildings, which together form the National September 11 Memorial & Museum on the site of the destroyed Twin Towers. A memorial & museum commemorating the victims, observation decks, restaurants, as well as office premises will be located under the skyscraper.

By the way, the height of the tower (1,776 feet) has a symbolic meaning. In 1776 the Declaration of Independence was proclaimed.
